EMOTIONAL LITERACY CARDS FEEDBACKNEW New Research based on feedback - download the PDF here NEW A NEW CASE STUDY IS NOW AVAILABLE - please email Lynnette for your FREE copy
Heartlands Emotional Literacy Cards are currently used by some NHS sectors, social care sectors, hospices, foster care services, probation services, mental health workers, independent therapists, schools, childrens services, the voluntary sector and learning disabilities services. Feedback for Heartlands Emotional Literacy Cards is 99% positive. "The simple images used have being called 'childlike' by many professionals, who also go on to state, 'but with a powerful effect on the client." "I have been using your cards for a little while now in my role as Young Persons Counsellor both in Blackpool and Lancaster and Morecambe and have used the cards to great effect with young people ranging from 7 - 17. The older age group seem to like the flexibility of the cards, and the way that they can be seen/interpreted differently when considering different issues. The younger children seem a bit wary of this lack of a definitive meaning, but I have used them to good effect, allowing cards to be picked out and then using them as a form of narrative therapy, to tell their own stories, and then drawing the final outcome as a picture which is individual to them." Trisha, therapist from NHS Connect "I am writing to say I have found the Emotional Literacy Cards very helpful in my client work. Other cards I have seen are very busy and have words which could suggest to clients feelings they are not experiencing. With your cards I feel that the clients are able to express themselves openly and honestly. There are no words or suggestions which can influence the outcome for the client, which I believe gives them control, which is often missing from their lives." From Therapist C "Just wanted to let you know that I used my cards with a client today for the first time. My client has been going round in circles for the past 6 sessions. We made amazing progress today with her actually getting in touch with what is going on for her." From Therapist A Clients who have used Heartlands Emotional Literacy Cards say things like; ' they really help me to connect with my underlying emotions.' ' I did not realise my emotions were so complicated and the emotional literacy cards help me to explore them in a very visual way.' Some adults with Downs Syndrome and other learning disabilities have found Heartlands Emotional Literacy Cards to be an excellent communication tool for them.
Heartlands continue to receive excellent feedback and many orders now come from personal recommendations. Heartlands Emotional Literacy Cards are not of benefit for everybody, they are only as good as the client who is willing or able to work and the professional who works within their own competency levels. Feedback welcome, please email lynnette@heartlands.uk.com.
